Thunderstorm with hail & gusty wind likely at isolated places

Mountains likely to experience rain while plains to remain dry today

The State meteorological centre has issued a yellow warning regarding the possibility of thunderstorm accompanied with lightning/hail and gusty wind (30-40 kmph) likely to occur at isolated places in the mountains of Uttarakhand towards afternoon/evening on Sunday. Apart from this, light to moderate rainfall/thunderstorm are likely to occur at isolated places in the mountains of the State whereas dry weather is likely to prevail in the plains today.

The provisional State capital Dehradun is forecast to experience mainly clear to partly cloudy sky with the maximum and minimum temperatures likely to be about 36 degrees Celsius and 23 degrees Celsius respectively on Sunday.

Meanwhile light to moderate rain was received in various parts of the State on Saturday with 36.5 millimetres rain being recorded in Champawat, 35 millimetres in Lohaghat and 4.5 millimetres in Kedarnath. The maximum and minimum temperatures recorded in various parts of the State on Saturday were 35.4 degrees Celsius and 23 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 36.1 degrees Celsius and 24.5 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 24.5 degrees Celsius and 13.2 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 25.2 degrees Celsius and 14.8 degrees Celsius respectively in New Tehri.
