Three more test positive for Covid-19, one dengue case reported in Dehradun

Three new cases of Covid-19 and one new case of dengue were reported in Dehradun district on Saturday. The Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of Dehradun, Dr Manoj Kumar Sharma stated on Saturday that three local Covid-19 cases tested positive, bringing the cumulative number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in the district to 87. This total includes 73 local residents and 14 migrants. Currently, there are three active Covid-19 cases, all of which are being treated at home. On Saturday, a total of 38 samples were tested for Covid-19.

Additionally, Sharma reported that one new case of dengue was also reported positive on Saturday and being admitted to Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital. This raises the cumulative number of confirmed dengue cases in the district to 156, with 80 cases originating from Dehradun and 76 from other districts or states.

At present, there are seven active dengue patients undergoing treatment: five at Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital, one at Himalayan Hospital and one at Government Doon Medical College (GDMC) hospital, he said.

Additionally, on Saturday, Accredited Social Health Activists (ASHAs) and health department volunteers conducted 1,1342 household surveys to check for mosquito larvae. Among these surveys, 117 homes were found to have larvae. The ASHA workers and volunteers also examined 80,588 containers on Saturday and discovered that 150 of them contained larvae.
