Three more dengue & two Covid cases reported in Dehradun

Three cases of dengue and two patients of Covid-19 were detected by the Health department in Dehradun on Monday. 

The number of dengue patients in the district has now mounted to 146.  The samples of three patients admitted in Mahant Indiresh hospital were found positive for dengue on the day.

The district Health department authorities informed that eight patients recovered from the disease on Monday. The department data shows that four patients were discharged from Mahant Indiresh, two from AIIMS Rishikesh and one each from Himalayan hospital and Graphic Era hospital on the day. The district now has 10 active cases of dengue.

 The department has so far collected 8,776 samples of the suspected patients of the disease and is currently engaged in a massive source reduction drive in which the larvae of the mosquito are being destroyed.  The teams of the department conducted a survey of 4,347 households on Monday.  

 Dengue is a viral infection spread by the mosquito Aedes Aezypti popularly known as Tiger Mosquito.  The symptoms of the disease are persistent high fever, rashes, headache and pain in the joints. In the acute cases the platelets number decreases drastically which may prove fatal for the patient.

 The Health department also reported two cases of the Covid-19 in Dehradun which increased the number of the patients affected by the disease in this season to 82. These two positive cases of the disease were reported from AlIMS Rishikesh. The district now has only two active cases of Covid-19.
