Thousands of Congress workers to attend Delhi rally

Thousands of Congress workers from Uttarakhand are expected to participate in the ‘Vote Chor Gaddhi Chhod rally’ at Ramlila Grounds in New Delhi on Sunday. The All India Congress Committee (AICC) has given the call for the rally against the alleged vote theft done by the Narendra Modi government and its “anti-people” policies. The party will also showcase crores of signatures collected across the country by the party leaders and workers in the rally. The State unit of the party has appointed senior leaders as observers for the district and Mahanagar areas of the State to ensure maximum attendance for the rally.
Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president Ganesh Godiyal reviewed the preparation of the party leaders and workers for the rally at the headquarters of the State unit of the party on Saturday. He said that the Congress party wants the election process in the country to be transparent and clean. Godiyal said that the Election Commission of India should not work in a partisan manner.
The PCC president said that the observers will help in proper arrangements of the rally, coordination with workers, transportation and will ensure maximum participation in the rally. Observers will have responsibility for conducting, monitoring and reporting all the arrangements related to the rally in the designated area under their charge. The PCC president also called upon all the district and Mahanagar presidents and block Congress committees and the heads of all the frontal organisations to ensure participation of maximum number of workers for the rally.
