‘Kedarkhand to Manaskhand’ tableau catches attention

The tableau ‘Kedarkhand to Manaskhand’ attracted the attention of the gathering during the State Foundation Day programme at police lines here on Thursday. The programme was presided over by the President Droupadi Murmu. The tableau of the Information department depicted the prominent religious places, rich cultural heritage, biodiversity and lofty mountains of the State.

 The director general of Information Banshidhar Tiwari said that under guidance of chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, the tableau of Manaskhand was judged best in the Republic Day parade this year. He said that work on the Manaskhand Mandir Mala mission is going on under the CM’s directions. Under the plan work on developing the ancient temples of Kumaon region on the lines of Badrinath and Kedarnath is also underway.  In the first phase of the Manaskhand mission two dozen temples including Jageshwar Dham will be developed. He said that the master plan of Jageshwar Dham has been prepared under the Manaskhand mission.

Tiwari said that Uttarakhand has a distinct place in the world and is called Devbhoomi. The temples of Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri and Yamunotri are mentioned in ancient texts as Kedarkhand while the temples of Kumaon region are mentioned as Manaskhand. He said that the Om Parvat, Adi Kailash, Parvati Kund and other areas provide a distinct identity to Manaskhand. The Corbett national park, Rajaji national park and other wildlife sanctuaries are rich with biodiversity and an attempt had been made by the department to include all these subjects in the tableau.
