In latest news from Uttarakhand, with water level of the Tehri Dam rising continuously and threatening Chinyalisaur, the local administration and people’s representatives have demanded the Tehri Hydro Development Corporation (THDC) and the director, Rehabilitation, to survey the affected buildings at the earliest and do the needful.

Besides, the BJP’s outgoing district vice-president Vijay Badoni wrote to the district magistrate Meherban Singh Bisht, urging him to take immediate cognisance of the dilapidated government buildings in Chinyalisaur area. He, in particular, drew DM’s attention to Devisaud bridge, Patwari Chowki and Devisaud primary school facing threat from the rising water level of the lake.

With the water level reaching 830 meters, many government buildings, bridges and roads, including the development block office, have developed cracks, putting the government work and the safety of the people at risk.

Seeing the seriousness of the situation, the DM has written to the director, Rehabilitation, THDC, asking him to find a solution. He assured that the process of selecting land at a safe place for the development block office would be started soon.
