To promote adventure tourism in Champawat district, the Tourism department has launched paragliding training from a hill adjacent to Banasur fort. As per the instructions of the secretary, Tourism Dheeraj Garbyal, two expert paragliders have been made available to the local youth of Champawat district and they will train the youths on the flight practice. The State Tourism department is now preparing the ground for launching commercial tandem paragliding in Champawat from October-November this year.
The Tourism officials further said that the upcoming launch would, on one hand, enable the tourists enjoy the thrill of tandem paragliding and, on the other hand, would open new self-employment opportunities for the local youth.
