Congress delegation discusses Haldwani riot with CM

A delegation of Congress leaders led by the leader of opposition in the Vidhan Sabha, Yashpal Arya met the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami at his official residence on Sunday. The Congress delegation discussed the recent violence in Vanbhulpura area of Haldwani with the chief minister while stressing that they do not support those who disrupt the law and order in the State. The chief minister informed the Congress delegation that the State government is taking this incident seriously. Prompt action has been taken by the government to maintain peace, law and order in the violence affected area. Dhami said that the Kumaon commissioner Deepak Rawat has been ordered to conduct a magisterial inquiry into the incident. The chief minister further said that those who disrupt the law and order in the State will not be spared under any circumstances.

Members of the Congress delegation spoke about an impartial inquiry into the Haldwani violence. They said that they do not support those who violate the law in the State. Former chief minister Harish Rawat, MLAs Pritam Singh, Bhuwan Kapdi, Furkan Ahmed, Adesh Chauhan, Mamta Rakesh along with the Haldwani MLA Sumit Hridayesh and other Congress leaders were also present on the occasion.
