During 19th state inter district swimming and cross country competition 2019, 40 Wing PAC won Baijanti trophy while IRB II won four gold and one silver medals. Pushkar Shah of IRB II Haridwar was given the award of best swimmer.
The three-day long contest came to an end with Vinay Singh from Champawat getting first prize in 50 metre freestyle final swimming contest, Manoj Lokhande of Nainital bagging second position and Mohit from IRB II of Haridwar securing third position. In 50 metre breaststroke final Robin of Chamoli got first prize, Omprakash of 40 wing PAC won second and Virendra of 46 PAC Rudrapur secured third position.
The commandant of 40 PAC Roshan Lal Sharma gave the prizes. Speaking on the occasion, he said that sports played a major role in the development of a person since they helped to help in both the physical and mental development of the players. The deputy commandant of PAC Haridwar, Uttam Singh Negi presented the detailed report of the contest. 40 wing PAC, ATC and IRB II were lauded for their good performance.
In all 324 players from 18 teams including 12 teams of district police, five teams of PAC, IRB and one of SDRF participated. Deputy commandant Aruna Bharti, Surjit Singh Panwar and others were also among those present on the occasion.
