SUV & IFFCO hold live demonstration of advanced farming techniques through drones

A live demonstration programme on ‘advanced farming techniques using scientific drone method’ was organised on Friday under the joint aegis of the School of Agricultural Sciences of Shri Venkateshwara University and Indian Farmers Fertiliser Cooperative Limited (IFFCO). The university sources said that the farmers of western Uttar Pradesh would be trained on how to double their yield through advanced farming by using drones in less time and at low cost, such as sowing crops, monitoring crops, mapping, accurate and effective spraying of fertilizers and pesticides and precise soil analysis.
Stressing on the technology as a game changer for farming, the chairman, Venkateshwara group of institutions, Sudhir Giri said that with Annadata Kisanbandhu remaining the backbone of the Indian economy, progressive transformation of agriculture through technology is an imperative.
Inaugurating the programme along with others, the pro- chancellor, SVU, Rajeev Tyagi said that through implementing research-based scientific agricultural technology and innovations in the agricultural sector, the School of Agricultural Sciences of the university would soon emerge as a centre of excellence.
Regarding the advanced scientific agricultural methods through drone technology, IFFCO’s Abhit Goswami said that the application of this technology is saving time and money and at the same time increasing the yield in India too on the lines of America, Canada and Germany.
Following this, a ‘live demo’ was successfully done of spraying Nano Urea on wheat crop in two acres of land in just six minutes and spraying insecticide on 10 bigha crops in just ten minutes.
