Surging tourist footfalls bring vibrancy back at Badrinath Dham

PIONEER EDGE NEWS SERVICE/ Badrinath
With the weather improving after the end of monsoon season, the number of pilgrims has started increasing for Badrinath Dham. Pilgrims are now streaming into the revered shrine from across the country. The surging footfall has also brought smiles to the faces of those associated with tourism trade. So far, over 1.5 million pilgrims have visited the shrine.
During the monsoon season, the Chardham Yatra was suspended due to the closure of the Badrinath Highway at various locations and a weather alert from September 1 to 5. Previously, the pilgrimage was suspended a couple of times due to heavy rains, which led to a decline in the number of pilgrims during the Pitru Paksha, severely impacting the Chardham business.
This year, the doors of Badrinath Dham are scheduled to close on November 25.
