Sustainability Fair 2022 concludes at UPES

The four-day Sustainability Fair 2022 organised by the School of Engineering at UPES ended on Saturday. The valedictory ceremony of the event with the theme ‘Safe, Resilient, and Sustainable Cities and Communities’ was presided over by the Education minister Dhan Singh Rawat.

Speaking on the occasion, Rawat congratulated UPES for its contributions in the field of higher education.  “It is our responsibility to conserve our resources and I am glad that UPES has created a platform to discuss the needs for a sustainable living, showcase cutting edge research and discuss permanent sustainable solutions for a better tomorrow. The university is ranked 65th among the top universities in India which speaks volumes about its commitment towards education and look forward to some more great work from UPES.”

Institutions and organisations from various parts of the world including Spain, Denmark, Srilanka, Indonesia and others participated in the four-day event and showcased their work focussing on urban planning, industry, pollution, green energy, waste management, biorefinery, air pollution, and climate change which included.  A total of 20 plenary sessions, 275 paper presentations and ten workshops were conducted during the event.

The winners of different competitions held during the event were felicitated by the minister in the ceremony. The UPES pro vice chancellor Ram Sharma, registrar Manish Madaan, School of Engineering dean Gurvinder Virk and faculty members were present on the occasion.
