STF arrests another accused in Baba Tarsem Singh murder case

Uttarakhand Special Task Force (STF) arrested the wanted accused Baba Anoop Singh in the Baba Tarsem Singh murder case. The accused was arrested from the Shyampur area in Haridwar on Tuesday, the senior superintendent of police of STF Navneet Singh Bhullar said. He informed that the accused is originally from Nawabganj in Rampur district of Uttar Pradesh and was residing in Ratanpura village of Gadarpur in Udham Singh Nagar district.
He was wanted in case number 83/24 under Sections 120B, 302, 34, 307 of the Indian Penal Code and Section 3/25 of the Arms Act registered at Nanakmatta police station, Udham Singh Nagar. The SSP said that the murder of Baba Tarsem Singh, head of Dera Kar Seva Sri Nanakmatta, occurred on March 28, 2024, when he was shot by a group of individuals. Two accused had already been arrested in the case while Singh had been absconding since the incident.
The police had also announced a bounty of Rs 25,000 on his head. Bhullar informed that the STF conducted searches across several states in pursuit of the accused before successfully locating and arresting him in Haridwar.
