Lottery held for LIG home applicants in Doon

Housing will be provided for all in Uttarakhand. The State Government has various schemes for this purpose, said the State’s Housing and Urban Development Minister Madan Kaushik. He was speaking at the lottery programme for applicants from low income group (LIG) under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) in the town hall on Monday. Addressing the gathering, Kaushik said that talks are being held with authorities, urban local bodies, housing development and builders for facilitation of housing for all.People from all segments of society including the last available beneficiary will be provided the benefit of these efforts. The departments concerned have been made to work consistently on this since 2014. Expressing his views on the occasion, the Dehradun mayor Sunil Uniyal ‘Gama’ said that the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi is being executed. The pace of work will be enhanced in the coming days. Addressing the gathering, MLAs Vinod Chamoli and Khajan Das also appreciated the efforts of the State Government and Mussoorie Dehradun Development Authority (MDDA). On the occasion, lotteries were picked up for 224 of the beneficiaries listed by the municipal corporation of Dehradun. A waiting list of additional 20 per cent was also drafted. A total of 1,500 applications had been received. After verification, the final allotment of the homes will be completed. The MDDA vice chairman Ashish Srivastav, secretary Prakash Chandra Dumka, municipal commissioner Vijay Kumar Jogdande and other officials concerned were also among those present on the occasion.
