State Govt moving ahead with development works- CM

Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami announced that an agriculture college will be established at Kunja Bahadurpur in Bhagwanpur area of Haridwar district. He said this after paying tributes to Raja Vijay Singh and Senapati Kalyan Singh on their martyrdom day on Sunday. Paying homage to the warriors who sacrificed their lives fighting for the nation’s freedom, he said that it is a matter of pride that the revolt against the British rulers was started at Kunja Bahadurpur.

Appreciating the works done by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and its impact on India’s global standing, Dhami said that the state government is taking development works forward. The government is also working to facilitate 70 per cent employment for locals in industries in Uttarakhand. He said, “In the first cabinet meeting after assuming charge as the CM, we had decided that appointments will be made to all vacant posts in government departments. This recruitment process is underway. Considering the problems being faced by people due to the Covid pandemic, the state government has granted one year relaxation in maximum age of applicants in government recruitments.”

The chief minister spoke about other measures including the interest free loan of upto Rs five lakh being provided to women working in different spheres under the livelihood mission, self help groups and clusters. Relief packages have also been provided for those in the tourism, transport and health sectors. The allowance to Gram Pradhans has been raised from Rs 1,500 to Rs 3,500 while surcharge of electricity has also been waived off. With 100 per cent payment being made to sugarcane farmers, the new rate of sugarcane will also be decided soon, he said. Dhami further said, “PM Modi has special affection for Uttarakhand.  More than 95 per cent vaccination has been done at many places in Uttarakhand with our aim being 100 per cent vaccination by the end of November. We have also decided to provide Rs 50,000 to the poor candidates who pass the preliminary exams of Union Public Service Commission, State Public Service Commission, National Defence Academy and Combined Defence Services,” he said.

Various public welfare schemes are being conducted considering the interests of all sections of society. Schemes like the Mukhyamantri Swarozgar Yojana are also being run to facilitate self employment, added Dhami.

Rural Development minister Yatishwaranand, Transport minister of Uttar Pradesh Ashok Katariya, MLAs Pranav Singh ‘Champion’, Deshraj Karnwal, Pradeep Batra, Suresh Rathore and others were also present on the occasion.
