State govt committed for welfare of UPNL workers: Joshi

Soldier Welfare minister Ganesh Joshi held discussion on various issues with the managing director of the Uttarakhand Purva sainik kalyan Nigam Limited (UPNL) Brigadier (retd) JNS Bisht on Wednesday. In the meeting the minister directed the MD to ensure that the file pertaining to the chief minister’s announcement regarding providing employment in the foreign countries is forwarded to the State administration on priority. He also held discussion on the pending issues, and problems of UPNL workers and their solution
Joshi directed that the compensation amount of Rs 50 lakh given to the dependents in case of accidental death of the UPNL workers, should be paid without any delay. Similarly the sum of Rs 1.5 lakh given as the immediate relief in case of accidents of the UPNL workers should also be paid without delay.
Joshi said that the welfare of the ex-servicemen and their dependents working in UPNL is one of the priorities of the government and every possible effort in this direction will be made.
UPNL MD Bisht informed the minister that recruitment of employees in 16 states apart from Uttarakhand is being done by the UPNL.
