Startups should tune their innovations with changing times as it is an integral part of entrepreneurship development. Stating this, the director general of Uttarakhand State Council for Science and Technology (UCOST) Rajendra Dobhal also talked about the importance of marketing research and technology management for startups.He was speaking at a two-day workshop on science and technology based entrepreneurship programme at different levels of society jointly organised by The National Academy of Sciences, India (NASI), Prayagraj, Biotech Consortium India Limited (BCIL), UCOST and Uttarakhand Council for Biotechnology (UCB) as part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav here on Monday. The program was organized in a hybrid mode.
Former president of NASI, Manju Sharma gave a brief introduction of the various programmes of the academy and talked about opportunities for entrepreneurship in the sector of science and technology. She said the economy can be boosted by the bioresources of the country.
BCIL managing director Purnima Sharma talked about the agro-climatic diversity of the country, increasing demand for biotech products and various entrepreneurship opportunities in the sector of pharmaceutical, biofertilizers and the development of the medical devices. She also talked about various proactive government policies for startups. Delivering the presidential address, Anurag Sharma from IIT Bombay talked about the importance of incubation in entrepreneurship development and various activities and programmes initiated by IIT Bombay for students. The keynote address of the first technical session of the day was delivered by Rohit Srivastava from IIT Bombay. He talked about various technologies which were commercialised and transferred to industries by IIT Bombay. The theme address of the second session was delivered by Shachindra Pandey who talked about IPR rights, copyright, trademark, trade secret, geographical indication and their importance in IP protection. He also talked about the complete process of patent filing.
