Soul of Uttarakhand resides in its rich culture: CM

Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has said that the soul of Uttarakhand resides in its rich culture. He said that the State government is working tirelessly for conserving the culture and traditions of the State. The CM was speaking at the Dehradun Literature Festival in Doon International School on Saturday.
The CM released the book ‘Leading Ladies of India’ authored by Venu Agrahara Dhingra on the occasion. He said that literature is a strong medium to express ideas, thoughts and experiences. He said that literature also plays an important role in social and cultural awareness. The CM hoped that the book will inspire women to move forward.
He said that under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the State government is working dedicatedly for women empowerment. The CM said that the demand of the products made by the women self-help groups is increasing in the State. The State government has initiated many schemes for making women self-reliant. The CM added that for all round development of the society, it is necessary for the women to become empowered.
Dhami said that in the last two years, the State government is organising Pravasi Uttarakhandi Sammelan for non resident Uttarakhandis. The objective of the programme is to connect people with their roots. He claimed that many natives of Uttarakhand residing outside have expressed their desire to help in the development of their villages and the State.
Principal secretary RK Sudhanshu, founder of Doon International School DS Mann, Geeta Dhami and others attended the programme.
