Some zones of Jim Corbett National Park have been exempted from the monsoon closure for the first time this year. With  these zones remaining open, tourists visiting Corbett National Park may enjoy wildlife even during the monsoon season.

As per the usual practice, all the zones of the park remained closed from June 15 to November 15 due to the rains. However, this year, some zones have been exempted from this seasonal closure. The Dhela, Jhirna, Garjiya and Mohan zones will now be accessible throughout the year.

Announcing this, the divisional forest officer of the Terai Western Forest Division, P C Arya said that the Phato zone would also remain open during the entire monsoon season, offering night stay facilities for visitors.

Further, the director of Corbett Tiger Reserve, Saket Badola said that the decision to keep some of the park’s zones open was made after evaluating the current monsoon conditions

Notably, this initiative is expected to generate more revenue, provide additional employment opportunities and boost further tourism in the region.
