Skeletal remains of missing youth found after a year along with broken laptop and mobile phone

Skeletal remains of a young man reportedly hailing from Maharashtra were found in suspicious circumstances in the forest area of Teda near Ramnagar. Upon receiving the information, the police reached the spot and took possession of the remains, which were then sent for post-mortem examination. Following preliminary investigation, the police stated that the remains are believed to be of a youth missing for more than a year.

According to officials, the police were informed about the skeletal remains by a forest guard. The police team reached the location and took possession of the skeletal remains. The police further said that only partial remains were found at the site. A broken mobile phone and a damaged laptop were also recovered nearby.

From the SIM card found in the mobile, the deceased was identified as Prashant Shilke (21) a native of Ahilya Nagar, Maharashtra. When the police contacted his family, they revealed that a missing person’s report for Prashant had been filed at Udyog Vihar Police Station, Gurugram (Haryana), on July 31, 2024. Since then, his mobile phone had been switched off and the family had been trying to learn about his whereabouts.

The police further said that shoelaces were found tied to a tree near the spot, suggesting that the youth might have died by suicide. However, officials stated that the exact cause of death will be confirmed only after the forensic report is received. The deceased’s family has been informed about the incident.
