Six more dengue cases reported in Dehradun

Six new cases of dengue were reported in the Dehradun district on Friday. The Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of Dehradun, Dr Manoj Kumar Sharma, informed that on Friday, six individuals were hospitalised after testing positive for dengue. They were admitted to hospitals, including one patient at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Rishikesh, four at Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital and one at Graphic Era Hospital for treatment. This brings the total number of confirmed dengue cases (ELISA-positive) to 66, which includes 37 cases in Dehradun and 29 cases from other districts or states.
Dr Sharma also said that there are currently nine patients receiving hospitalisation: five at Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital, two at Himalayan Hospital, one at AIIMS Rishikesh and one at Graphic Era Hospital. Additionally, on Friday alone, 90 dengue samples were collected, raising the cumulative total to 4,621 samples collected so far. It is important to note that there have been no reported deaths related to dengue at this time.
Moreover, on Friday, ASHAs (Accredited Social Health Activists) and Health department volunteers conducted 19,633 house surveys to check for mosquito larvae. Among these, 71 houses tested positive for larvae. The department has completed a total of 3,72,817 house surveys, with 1,034 of those showing positive results. On the same day, ASHA workers and volunteers also inspected 1,34,487 containers, of which 77 were found to be positive for larvae. To date, they have surveyed 22,74,135 containers, resulting in 1,285 testing positive.
