Shrine board for Char Dhams to usher in development: BJP
Media in charge of BJP, Devendra Bhasin attacks Congress for opposing the decision.
Coming to the support of the Uttarakhand government’s decision to constitute a Char Dham Shrine Board, the state unit of BJP has said that the shrine board would write a new definition of development in the state. The Media in-charge of state BJP, Devendra Bhasin said that the decision of the government is historic and it would ensure development of the Char Dhams and other temples while keeping the interests of the stakeholders intact. Criticising the opposition of Congress on the issue, Bhasin said that the board would also help in employment generation. He said that the creation of a shrine board for Char Dhams on the lines of similar boards for the management of Tirupati Balaji and Vaishno Devi shrines would help in development of these shrines. Bhasin claimed that the rights of the stakeholders would remain protected and no change in the system of offering prayers and other traditional rites would occur. He added that the decision would help in increasing infrastructure facilities in these temples. The BJP media in-charge also claimed that the Char Dham shrine board would result in many fold increase in the income of those associated with these temples. He said that the number of pilgrims in the char dhams is increasing and it is expected that one crore pilgrims would arrive by the year 2030. For providing service and facilities for such a big number of pilgrims, the Char Dham Shrine board headed by chief minister would be of a great help.
The state cabinet in its meeting held on Wednesday had decided to constitute a Char Dham Shrine board. Apart from managing the affairs of the famous four temples, the shrine board would also manage 47 other important temples. The chief minister would be chairman of the board and a senior ranking IAS officer would be the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the board.
