Twenty five students have allegedly produced counterfeit documents related to the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) clearance in order to secure admission at DAV PG College. Regarding this matter, the college principal KR Jain informed that the admission cell for undergraduate courses has identified 25 instances where students presented forged CUET clearance documents. However, Jain stated that these allegations pertaining to counterfeit documents have not yet been proven. In order to address the suspicions surrounding the authenticity of CUET clearance documents, the college administration has recently established an inquiry committee. The committee will investigate the matter and aim to provide a resolution promptly. If any students are found to be guilty of presenting forged CUET clearance documents after inquiry, the college will take appropriate disciplinary measures against them, he added.

It can be recalled that this year, the University Grants Commission has made it mandatory for every student to clear the CUET in order to enroll in centralised universities. Due to this, the DAV PG College has seen a decrease in the number of admissions to undergraduate courses this year.

Commenting on the admission rate of the undergraduate courses, Jain said, “This time there has been a decrease in the number of admissions as a result of inadequate knowledge concerning the clearance of CUET. Presently, about 2,000 seats in undergraduate courses have been filled by students this year. To address this situation in the future, the school management must undertake actions to raise awareness about CUET.”

He further informed that the classes for BA, BSc, and BCom will commence on August 28 at the college.
