SGRR university organises one day  Farmer’s Fair

The Social Welfare and Transport minister Chandan Ram Das has said that the State government is making efforts to boost to agriculture in mountainous areas, promote cattle rearing and medicinal herbs in the State. The minister participated in a day long Kisan Mela- 2023 organised for framers and micro entrepreneurs at Shri Guru Ram Rai University on Tuesday. Speaking on the occasion, the minister said that one of the prime objectives for creation of the state of Uttarakhand was to promote the local farmers of Uttarakhand. He said that the farmers are now becoming aware of modern agriculture and are reaping its benefits. He urged the farmers and small entrepreneurs to get associated with the modern model of agriculture. Das added that the  efforts are also being made in creating employment opportunities in the field of Khadi and village industries.

 Congratulating  Shri Guru Ram Rai University’s School of Agricultural Sciences for organising the fair the Minister opined that these types of farmer fairs provide suitable platform to the small entrepreneurs and are extremely beneficial for the farmers.

Speaking on the occasion the university vice chancellor Uday Singh Rawat said that more than 50 stalls have been set up free of cost in the fair for the farmers and small entrepreneurs. He said that agriculture specialists of the university explained modern farming and its techniques in detail to the farmers and entrepreneurs in the fair.
