Court orders police to file case against three BJP members
On the complaint of physical abuse and sexual harassment with a minor, special judge, Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Rama Pandey has ordered the Dalanwala police station in-charge to file a case against three Bharatiya Janata Party members.
Pleader for the victim, advocate Amit Tomar said, “The victim minor was made vice president of district Yuva Prakoshth in Tehri Garhwal. Due to some minor argument with these self proclaimed leaders of the party, he was subjected to physical abuse and sexual harassment at the party’s Mahanagar office in Dehradun. He was also threatened by them. Despite this, the police did not register the case of this juvenile immediately. From May 11 till this date the case has not been registered due to which we had to knock the doors of court.”
According to the minor complainant, on April 28 during the Lok Sabha elections he went to the BJP state president Ajay Bhatt’s home, where his personal secretary Om Prakash verbally abused him, snatched his phone and told him to get out of the premises. On May 11, complainant’s neighbour Saurabh Kapur told him that he has been called to Mahanagar office to return his phone, but on reaching the office Om Prakash, Surabh Yadav and Mahanagar president Shyam Pant started thrashing him.
