Seven deaths, 2,813 new Covid cases in U’khand

The contagion of the Covid-19 is continuing at an alarming pace in Uttarakhand. On Friday, the health department reported the death of seven patients of the disease and found 2,813 new cases of the disease in the state.
The state health department has so far detected 70,427 new cases of the disease from January 1 this year till date. A total 37,312 patients have recovered from the disease so far in this year while 103 patients have died in the state since January 1 this year.
The recovery percentage of the disease this year was at 52.98 per cent on Friday. The positivity rate of the disease was reported at 9.41 per cent on the day.
The authorities reported the death of three patients from Covid-19 at Mahant Indiresh hospital Dehradun while two patients died at BC Joshi hospital (DRDO) Nainital on Friday. One patient each was reported dead at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Rishikesh and Subharti hospital Dehradun on the day.
The health department reported 978 new patients from Dehradun, 422 from Haridwar, 257 from Nainital, 203 from Pauri, 194 from Udham Singh Nagar, 170 from Almora, 113 from Rudraprayag, 103 from Uttarkashi, 96 from Pithoragarh, 87 from Bageshwar, 74 from Champawat, 67 from Chamoli and 49 from Tehri on Friday.
The active case count of Covid-19 in the state is now at 30,927. Dehradun with 14,760 cases is at the top of the table of active cases while Haridwar has 3,830 active cases of the disease which is followed by Nainital district with 3,423 active cases. Uttarkashi is at the bottom of the table with 256 active cases of the disease. In the ongoing vaccination drive 76,633 people were vaccinated in 1,422 sessions in the state held on Friday.
