Fighting a grim battle to contain the second wave of Covid-19, the Uttarakhand government has now handed over the responsibility of home isolation of Covid-19 patients to senior IAS officer Dilip Jawalakar. The step assumes significance since the unmonitored home isolation was being said to be the cause behind the high death rate in the state.

The secretary, health Amit Singh Negi said on Friday that secretary Sowjanya would oversee the Covid kit distribution activity to the patients. He said that the vaccination of the 18 to 45 year age group population would start in the next few days. Negi informs that the government of India has given permission for 60 metric tonnes of additional oxygen supply to the state. The state would now get 183 metric tonnes of oxygen gas.
