Science City project to benefit students & youths of U’khand: Chopra

Ministry of Culture special secretary and financial advisor Ranjana Chopra visited the Uttarakhand State Council for Science and Technology (UCOST) and the proposed site for the Science City project here on Sunday.
She sought information on the various components of the Science City project and discussed the importance of this project in detail. Appreciating the works being done in the sphere of science and technology in Uttarakhand by UCOST, Chopra said that the project will be very beneficial for the students and youths of the State. She also planted a sapling at the UCOST campus during her visit.
Earlier, the UCOST director general Durgesh Pant welcomed her and informed her in detail about the council’s science-based plans, innovations and the major programmes it is implementing in the State. He also informed Chopra about the research being facilitated by the council, science extension and social-technical aspects of the works being conducted.
UCOST scientists GS Rautela, DP Uniyal along with Amit Pokhriyal and other officials were also present on the occasion.
