The Uttarakhand Congress has termed the budget tabled in the assembly on Tuesday as directionless, inflationary and anti people.  In his reaction, the Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president Karan Mahara said that the finance minister Premchand Agarwal has used the formula of ‘old wine in new bottle’ in preparing the budget.  He said that there is nothing new in the budget. Terming the budget as hopeless for all sectors, Mahara said that there is nothing for the rural areas in it. He said that only the size of the budget has been increased but no provision has been made to increase the sources of revenue. He said that a provision of only Rs 25 crore has been made in the budget for preventing migration from the mountainous areas of the state. He added that no special provision has been made for the departments such as agriculture, social welfare, health, education, roads which are directly associated with the poor and rural population of the state.
