Rudranath ritually opened to devotees

The portals of the fourth Kedar- Rudranath Mandir were ceremoniously opened to devotees amidst Vedic rituals early on Sunday morning. The chief priest of the temple, Sunil Tiwari opened the portals of the temple ritually in the presence of devotees. Lord Rudranath will be seated here for the next six months.
Situated at an altitude of 11,800 feet in the Chamoli district, the Rudranath temple has to be reached after a trek. The face of Lord Shiva is worshipped in this temple. With the opening of the portals, the lord will be worshipped here for the next six months. After the closure of the temple in the winter, Lord Rudranath is worshipped at the Gopinath temple in Gopeshwar.
