Roorkee church attack : woman alleges forced conversion attempt

In a new twist in the Roorkee Church attack, a woman, a resident of Civil Lines area under Kotwali police station has submitted a complaint in which she has said that she along with her husband and some others were invited in a programme in Solanipuram on Sunday morning. She alleged that the people present there promised to pay them a sum of Rs two lakhs, job and house in lieu of conversion.

In her complaint the woman said that when she and others refused the offer they were threatened and beaten by those present in the Church. On her complaint the police registered cases against Sadhna Peter, Akashi Wilson, Meenakshi Wilson, Dyson, Prince, Veerpal, Shubham Wilson and others. The case is being investigated by a team headed by CO Roorkee Vivek Kumar.

 On Sunday morning a group of men allegedly attacked a Church in Solanipuram area of Roorkee. On the complaint of those present in the Church, the police had registered cases against people belonging to Hindu organisations and leaders of BJP.
