The alumni of prestigious Rashtriya Indian Military College (RIMC) enthusiastically took part in a celebration programme held at their alma mater. The three day programme commenced on March 13 and ended on Tuesday. The event was part of the ongoing centenary celebration of the premier institute.

The third and final day of the celebrations started with a ladies meet where cadets interacted with the ladies. Cadets got an insight into the lives of officers who walked out of the same hallowed portals that they are a part of today. Friendly matches squash, basketball, hockey, volleyball and relay races were organised between the old boys and cadets. The highlight of the celebration was the cultural programme in which the cadets enthralled the audience with their energy and mesmerizing dance and drama performances.

The old boys were given a warm welcome by the commandant and the staff members. Veterans and serving defence personnel from across the country interacted with young boys and shared their own experiences as cadets back in their time at RIMC.

On March 14, a solemn wreath laying ceremony was organised where the Rimcollians remembered their lost brothers who had sacrificed their lives for the country. It was followed by a cricket match between the old boys and the cadets in the college field.  An annual general meeting of Rimcollians Old boys Association (ROBA) also took place on the day.

It is pertinent to mention here that the centennial celebrations of RIMC had started on March 13. The Governor of Uttarakhand, Lieutenant General (retd)  Gurmit Singh, the Chief of the Army Staff (CoAS) General M M Naravane and many dignitaries had attended the programme.
