Reinstated PRO Bisht after an inquiry- CM Dhami

The reinstatement of PRO proves the charge of Congress on Mining correct – Harish Rawat

The chief minister Puskhar Singh Dhami has said that his Public Relations Officer (PRO) Nandan Singh Bisht was reinstated after an inquiry. Replying to a question in a press conference here on Monday the CM said, “Is it a big issue? The poor fellow had written a letter. We ordered an inquiry after which he was reinstated.’’

Meanwhile the head of the campaign committee of Uttarakhand Congress and former chief minister Harish Rawat has said that the episode involving reinstatement of Public Relations Officer (PRO) in the chief minister’s office (CMO) has proved the charge of the Congress party correct that the CM Pushkar Singh Dhami is ‘Khanan Priya Mukyamantri’ ( The CM who loves mining). He said that PRO was removed by the CM when the issue of his writing a letter to the Superintendent of the Police (SP) Bageshwar was raised in the Uttarakhand assembly but recently Bisht was reappointed to the position from the date he was removed. “This is a blatant example of how things are currently operating. The illegal mining is rampant in the state and all the rivers and rivulets have been dug up causing damage to the environment and putting the lives of the people at risk,’’ he said.

The Pioneer in its January 9 edition had carried the story about the reinstatement of the sacked PRO in the Office of Chief Minister. Bisht was sacked on December 11, 2011 when a letter issued by him asking the SP Bageshwar to cancel the penalty imposed on three trucks involved in transportation of mining material went viral.

However, just two days before the implementation of the Model Code of Conduct (MCC), the government reinstated the PRO. Interestingly he was appointed again from December 11, the date on which he was sacked earlier.
