Regional Youth Parliament Competition concludes at KV ONGC

The closing ceremony of the two-day 36th Regional Youth Parliament Competition was held at Kendriya Vidyalaya ONGC, Dehradun on Tuesday. While the students from the Chandigarh and Delhi regions presented their various performances those of the host school presented a cultural programme based on Uttarakhand’s folk festival, Phooldei.

Thereafter, students from PM Shri Kendriya Vidyalaya New Cantt, Kapurthala and the escort teacher from Kendriya Vidyalaya Subathu shared their experiences. Subsequently, the students presented a cultural programme featuring folk dances from various States such as Rajasthan and Bengal, offering glimpses of India’s rich folk traditions.

The joint commissioner (Training), Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, Nagendra Goyal, in his address, motivated the students to continue striving for excellence.

In the competition, the first place was secured by Dr Rajendra Prasad Kendriya Vidyalaya, Delhi (Delhi Region) while the second place was bagged by Kendriya Vidyalaya No 2, Akhnoor (Jammu Region) and PM Shri Kendriya Vidyalaya, Kapurthala Cantt (Chandigarh Region) finished third.

The programme concluded with the address of the principal of the host school, Sushil Kumar Dhiman.
