Reel ban & dress code for Nayana Devi temple visitors

In latest news from Uttarakhand, in line with the ban imposed by Badri-Kedar Temple Committee on making videos and reels by the visitors/ devotees in and around the two revered shrines, the management committee of the Maa Nayana Devi temple of Nainital- known as one of the 51 Shaktipeeths in the country- has banned making reels in the temple premises. Besides, the committee has issued guidelines about the dress the devotees are to wear for visiting the temple and offering puja.  

A senior functionary of Shri Maa Naina Devi Temple Amar Udaya Trust Shailendra Melkani said that the devotees and tourists visiting this revered shrine must desist from making reels. Besides, they must attire themselves appropriately in accordance with the sanctity of the temple and the Indian culture, he further said and added that if anyone is found making reels in defiance of the order the mobile phone would be confiscated and legal actions would be taken.   

Notably, a recent incident of a reel made by a woman devotee and posted on social media which later became viral triggered this action on the part of the temple management.
