The chief spokesperson of Uttarakhand Congress Garima Dasauni has said that the recent episode in which the former BJP MLA Suresh Rathore declared actress Urmila as his second wife in a press conference and the volte face by him in wake of the public pressure showcases the characterless politics and double standards of the BJP.
She said that Rathore is now claiming that his acceptance of being in relationship with the actress was only part of a movie which is a poor attempt to mislead the public. Dasauni said the BJP’s decision to serve a notice to the former MLA is a mere eyewash. She said that initially BJP maintained a silence on the issue but when people started questioning the conduct of Rathore and violation of Uniform Civil Code (UCC) by him, the BJP issued a notice to him.
Dasauni added that now Rathore is trying to divert attention from his acts by blaming senior leaders of Congress party. She said that many leaders of BJP are involved in the exploitation of women and martial controversies.
