Himalayan hosp prepares for 3rd wave of Pandemic

In view of the probable third wave of pandemic affecting the children the most, the Himalayan hospital Jollygrant has prepared a master plan to deal with it. The hospital has made a task force consisting of experts of neonatal, paediatrics, nursing and infection control for the purpose.

The vice chancellor (VC) of the Himalayan hospital, Vijay Dhasmana said that a Covid dedicated neonatal intensive care unit and paediatric ICU are being prepared in the Covid hospital. He said that in the initial stages these would be of 10 to 20 bed capacity and would be increased depending upon the requirements.

Dhasmana said that a separate Covid ward for children is also being set up in the hospital. It would have oxygen supported beds and high flow oxygen beds.  He said that separate arrangements for the stay of the caretakers of children would be made.
