Ranji Trophy: U’khand vs RLYS match ends in a draw

The Ranji Trophy match between Uttarakhand and Railways concluded in a draw on the fourth day at the Kaushiki Cricket Ground, Ramnagar. Batting first, Railways had posted a total of 333 runs in their first innings. In reply, Uttarakhand had managed to take a first-innings lead by scoring 398 runs all out, securing a 65-run advantage.

For Uttarakhand, Yuvraj Singh top-scored with 92 runs followed by Bhupen Lalwani (78), Kunal Chandan (50) and Abhay Negi (49). From Railways, Kunal Yadav took five wickets while Himanshu Sagwan and Z A Khan picked up two wickets each.

In the second innings, Railways were 85 for 1 at the stumps with A K Ahuja scoring 42 runs and Vivek Singh contributing 36 runs. Abhay Negi claimed the only wicket for Uttarakhand.

Since no result could be achieved, the match referee P M S Reddy declared the match a draw. Based on the first-innings lead, Uttarakhand earned three points while Railways received one point.

Mayank Mishra of Uttarakhand was named the Man of the Match for his outstanding performance of taking six wickets in Railways’ first innings. He received the award from the president of the Cricket Association of Uttarakhand, Deepak Mehra.
