Citizens were informed about proper segregation of domestic waste in an activity held by Municipal Corporation of Roorkee (MCR) as part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav here.
Roorkee mayor Gaurav Goel and senior municipal health officer Dr Vikrant Sirohi, while starting the awareness campaign about household waste, said that as part of the celebration of 75 years of independence, a door to door public awareness campaign will be conducted to promote source segregation of waste to encourage the segregation of waste at the homes and other establishments from where it is collected by municipal staff.
People will be given information about segregation and its benefits. Assistant municipal commissioner SP Gupta, sanitation inspectors Amit Kumar and Mansha Negi and others were also present on the occasion.
