Rajnath reiterates developmental aims at conclusion of Vijay Sankalp Yatra

Union Defence minister Rajnath Singh and chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami jointly launched development works for the district worth Rs 111 crore at the conclusion of the Garhwal leg of the Bharatiya Janata Party’s Vijay Sankalp Yatra in Uttarkashi on Thursday. The duo inaugurated various schemes worth Rs 47 crore and unveiled the foundation of other works worth Rs 64 crore on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, Singh praised Dhami stating that he had done exceptional work during his six months in office. “I can’t imagine any chief minister doing so many works in six months. CM Dhami did not just make announcements but also implemented them,” he said. The Defence minister people have respect for Uttarakhand as soldiers from this state have made important contribution in defence of the nation. Speaking of the central government’s achievements during the past seven and a half years, he said that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership the nation’s stature had risen in the global arena. The global community not only listens seriously to what India says but also implements it, he said. Singh said that the Vijay Sankalp Yatra was organised to show the future plans for Uttarakhand. “We want to make Uttarakhand an ideal state. This is possible only if the people of Uttarakhand support the government of the state,” he added.

Addressing the gathering, CM Dhami said that the BJP wants to work and take Uttarakhand forward. He said that he had dedicated to the public whatever time he had got to serve the state. Stating that he had consistently taken decisions in public interest, he added that government orders and financial approvals had also been granted following the decisions. The State government had decided to fill 24,000 vacant posts in government departments with the recruitment process underway for most posts. Swift redress of public grievances and issues was also accorded priority with focus on simplification and fixing responsibility of officials. Dhami also spoke about the various decisions taken in the interest of different sections of society. Further, he made a number of announcements including construction of a mini stadium at the Ramlila Maidan, construction of Asthapath along the Ganga from Kali Kamli Dharmshala to Gangotri, beautification of Tambakhani tunnel, redressal of mobile network issue in Gajna area, operation of roadways bus till border area of Kamad and various other infrastructural development and beautification works in the district.

Union minister of State for Defence, Ajay Bhatt, BJP state president Madan Kaushik, Tehri MP Mala Rajya Laxmi Shah, Yamunotri MLA Kedar Singh Rawat and others were also present on the occasion.
