Rain continued in various parts of the State on Wednesday providing relief from the summer heat.
Similar weather is forecast to be witnessed on Thursday with the State Meteorological Centre issuing a yellow warning regarding the possibility of thunderstorms accompanied with lightning/intense spells of rain/gusty winds (30-40 kmph) likely to occur at isolated places in Dehradun, Uttarkashi, Chamoli, Rudraprayag, Almora, Nainital, Bageshwar and Pithoragarh districts. Thunderstorms accompanied with lightning/gusty winds (30-40 kmph) are also likely to occur at isolated places in Tehri, Pauri and Champawat districts of the State today.
Apart from this, light to moderate rain / thunderstorms are likely to occur at a few places in Dehradun, Uttarkashi, Chamoli, Rudraprayag, Almora, Nainital, Bageshwar and Pithoragarh districts and at isolated places in Tehri, Pauri and Champawat districts. Further, dry weather is likely to prevail in the plain districts of the State today.
The provisional State capital Dehradun is forecast to witness a partly to generally cloudy sky. One to two spells of light to moderate rain/ thunderstorms accompanied with lightning / gusty wind (30-40 kmph) are likely to occur in some areas. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be about 31 degrees Celsius and 18 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun today.
The maximum and minimum temperatures recorded on Wednesday were 27.7 degrees Celsius and 17.3 degrees Celsius in Dehradun respectively, 33.5 degrees Celsius and 18.9 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 19.3 degrees Celsius and 7.6 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 16 degrees Celsius and 9.4 degrees Celsius in New Tehri.
