Rains bring temperatures down, more in store today

Various parts of the State witnessed light to moderate which brought the temperatures down by a few notches on Tuesday. Similar weather is forecast today with the State Meteorological Centre also issuing a yellow warning regarding the possibility of thunderstorms accompanied with lightning/intense spells of rain/gusty winds (40-50 kmph) likely to occur at isolated places in hilly districts of Uttarakhand.

Apart from this, light to moderate rain/thunderstorms are likely to occur at a few places in hilly districts of Uttarakhand while very light to light rain/thunderstorms are likely to occur at isolated places in the plain districts of the State today.

The provisional State capital Dehradun is forecast to witness a partly to generally cloudy sky. One to two spells of light to moderate rain/thunderstorms accompanied with lightning/gusty wind (40-50 kmph) are also likely to occur in some areas. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be about 32 degrees Celsius and 20 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun today.

Meanwhile, the rain on Tuesday brought the temperatures down in various parts of the State. The maximum and minimum temperatures were 27.6 degrees Celsius and 19.8 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 35.2 degrees Celsius and 21.9 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 19.9 degrees Celsius and 10.4 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 22 degrees Celsius and 12.3 degrees Celsius in New Tehri. There was 13.1 millimetres of rain in Dehradun, 37.5 millimetres in Nainital, 36.5 millimetres in Chaukhutiya, 17 millimetres in Dwarahat and 4.5 millimetres in Mukteshwar.
