PIONEER NEWS SERVICE/Dehradun
Considering an increase in demand during summers, Railways will commence a special train service between Bangalore and Rishikesh on June 19. The special train will connect Bangalore’s Yesvantpur junction directly to Rishikesh, offering a convenient travel option for tourists, devotees and locals during summer and monsoon.
The officials informed that the train is scheduled to make its departure from Bangalore on June 19 with subsequent runs on June 26 and July 3. From Rishikesh, it will depart on June 21, 28 and July 5. The route will pass through Kurnool, Kazipet, Nagpur, Gwalior, Delhi’s Hazrat Nizamuddin, Haridwar and Roorkee, strengthening ties between South India and Uttarakhand, they said.
According to them, the new service is expected to ease rush during the three days making it simpler for people to travel between Bangalore and reach Rishikesh.
This special train is expected to boost connectivity and pilgrimage tourism in Uttarakhand. Many are expecting it to be a regular train in the coming days rather than just a special train during summer.
