A team from Purola police station arrested a young man carrying illegal hashish near Billa Khad on the Naugaon-Vikasnagar road. According to the information received, 930 grams hashish was recovered from the accused’s possession whose market value was Rs 1.8 lakh.
Sharing details, the station in-charge, Purola police station, Deepak Singh Rawat said that the accused has been identified as Aryan Singh Rawat (22 years), resident of Mori, Uttarkashi. “During interrogation, he revealed that he was trying to bring the hashish from the Mori to Dehradun. Police have registered a case against the accused under the NDPS Act and have initiated further legal proceedings. The accused will be produced in court today,” he added.
The superintendent of police, Kamlesh Upadhyay commended the team and presented them with a cash reward of Rs 2,500.
