The teams of Special Task Force (STF) of Punjab and Uttarakhand arrested one of the shooters of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi’s gang who was on the run along with his accomplices after allegedly murdering a man in Patiala. The senior superintendent of police (SSP) of  Uttarakhand STF Ajai Singh said that Patiala resident Harvir Singh, along with six of his associates, shot a man Tarkendra Singh Bindra dead near Punjabi University on the night of April 5 and fled the scene. He said that the STF team of Punjab contacted the STF here on the evening of April 14 to trace the accused.

The local authorities were gathering the information about people staying in local hotels and hostels for the past three to four days when they got to know about a man from another state who had started living in the Manduwala area of Premnagar two days ago. The authorities raided the location and arrested the main accused Harvir Singh. The STF SSP informed that according to the accused, he had bad blood with a Patiala resident and a member of another gang Jugnu. On the night of April 5, Jugnu called some of his gang members to allegedly start a gang war so the accused also called his accomplices that led to firing from both sides during which bullets hit the deceased Tarkendra Singh Bindra, as per the accused statement to the police.

After the incident, he and his accomplices went to Chandigarh and then went to separate locations. The main accused reached Dehradun by bus and searched for a secluded place at ManduWala in Premnagar to stay underground, as per the STF SSP. He also informed that the accused is a member of Lawrence Bishnoi’s gang who is currently lodged at Tihar Jail in Delhi. Singh said that having several tourist places and being an education hub, Uttarakhand becomes a convenient place for many to hide in but authorities have been taking actions regularly against such culprits.
