Probe ordered into pregnant woman’s death after referral

The Tehri district magistrate Nitika Khandelwal has ordered the formation of a committee to probe the reasons behind the death of a pregnant woman on the way to delivery. A pregnant woman had gone to the community health centre at Baleshwar on November 18 and was referred to a higher centre. The woman died en route. Neetu Devi (36) from Shrikot Chamiyala village was taken by her family members to the community health centre. She was referred to a higher centre and died en route. Considering the seriousness of the incident, the district magistrate has formed a committee to probe the case. Headed by the Ghansali sub divisional magistrate, the committee will investigate the matter and submit its report in three days.
