Probe demanded into TDC demolition irregularities

Senior State Congress leader, Ganesh Upadhyaya met the Agriculture minister, Ganesh Joshi and demanded a judicial or CBI inquiry into the irregularities involving the demolition of the Tarai Development Corporation office at Haldi in Pantnagar to pave way for the expansion of the Pantnagar International Airport. The Congress leader alleged that the land where the TDC office stood had been undervalued as part of a collision among vested interests. He said that its temporary office at Pattharchatta should be shifted to Nagla for the convenience of the farmers. Further, he demanded that the State government should release 15 acres of land and Rs 35 crore for TDC’s relocation.
Among those who accompanied Upadhyaya were MLA Tilakraj Behad, former MLA Rajesh Shukla and Rudrapur Municipal Corporation mayor Vikas Sharma.
