Priortise Ayushman, SGHS beneficiaries’ admission: SHA chairman to hospitals

PIONEEREDGE NEWS SERVICE | Dehradun

The chairman of the State Health Authority (SHA), Arvind Singh Hyanki has directed the hospitals to ensure that Ayushman and State Government Health Scheme (SGHS) beneficiaries are admitted sans hindrance related to bed availability. He said this while meeting senior SHA officials and representatives from Ayushman-listed hospitals here on Wednesday.

During the meeting, several issues were discussed, including discrepancies in medical rates on the portal, cancelled and erroneous medical claims, payment of pending dues and other related concerns.

Hyanki, along with the chief executive officer, SHA, Reena Joshi, directed all officers to address the authority-level problems immediately. They emphasised that the interests of beneficiaries must be prioritised as agreed to earlier by the hospitals.

Hyanki stated that any issues arising at the authority level must be swiftly addressed while proposals regarding problems should be submitted accordingly. He urged all hospitals to streamline their operations in a more organised and timely manner, stressing that negligence at any level disrupts the entire process.

He reassured the attendees that payments under the Ayushman scheme are being made on time and if there are delays in payments for SGHS all parties involved should cooperate. Efforts are being made to rectify IT-related issues, he said, adding that there is no review system in place for fraud cases. “Complaints have been filed against individuals causing confusion regarding the payment of medical claims from SHA,” he added.

Joshi said that Ayushman Yojana is focused on public welfare, stressing that SHA would take action against any facilities found to be deliberately harassing beneficiaries.
