Chief secretary Anand Bardhan instructed the officials concerned to prioritise the education and training of children residing in childcare institutions. He said this while inaugurating an exhibition showcasing products made by children from government-run childcare facilities and women from government shelters on Thursday.
The CS emphasised the need for consistent and ongoing skill development training for these children, urging officials to make substantial efforts to empower them and integrate them into society. During the exhibition organised by the Women’s Welfare department commended the impressive artwork and diverse products made by the children and women. He also encouraged the inmates of women’s shelters to receive vocational training to enhance their skills and improve the quality of the products they create.
This exhibition will continue till October 17. Various items on display and available for purchase include candles, Karwa, Diyas, paintings, Bhimal and Aipan paintings.
