President Murmu arrives in Dehradun for three-day visit

President Droupadi Murmu reached Dehradun on Thursday evening as part of her three-day visit to Uttarakhand. Upon her arrival at Dehradun Airport on Thursday, the President was warmly welcomed by Governor lieutenant general (retd) Gurmit Singh, chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, Dehradun mayor Saurabh Thapliyal, BJP State President Mahendra Bhatt, Doiwala MLA Brijbhushan Gairola, former chief minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, Haridwar MLA Madan Kaushik, along with several other ministers, senior BJP leaders and Dehradun DM and SSP.
Murmu proceeded to the city by road from the airport towards Rashtrapati Niketan, earlier known as Rashtrapati Ashiyana, in Dehradun. Her itinerary includes participation in multiple programmes and public engagements, as per the officials.
On Friday, which marks her birthday, she will receive greetings at the Rashtrapati Niketan in Dehradun and will lay the foundation stone of a major public park project. During her stay, she will also offer prayers at the Shiv Mandir located on Rajpur Road and will release a commemorative postal stamp celebrating 125 years of Nainital. After concluding her official engagements, she will return to New Delhi on June 21.
